Since 1937, Julfest has been the club's most popular and nostalgic event, featuring an authentic Lucia procession, the warm embrace of Glögg, the flavorful delights of Sild (herring), and a delectable spread of authentic Scandinavian main plates. Lucia Procession

The Lucia procession, traditionally held on December 13th, has deep historical roots in Sweden. It dates back to the 18th century and is associated with Saint Lucia, a symbol of light and hope during the darkest time of the year.

Traditionally held in Sweden, the Lucia procession features a young woman, dressed in a white gown with a crown of candles adorning her head, who emerges to lead the way. With grace and serenity, she carries a tray of saffron buns and ginger cookies, offering these sweet treats to guests as a symbol of bringing light during the winter solstice.

Her entourage, including star boys and girls, follow in white robes, creating a mesmerizing display of candlelight. The Lucia procession is a symbol of warmth, generosity, and the spirit of giving, making it a heartwarming part of our Julfest celebration.

Begin the evening with some of our authentic hors d'oeuvres, a delightful journey into the flavors of Scandinavia. The smorgasbord offers traditional hors d'oeuvres that will transport your taste buds to the Nordic regions. Enjoy a selection of savoury and delectable bites, including herring varieties, crispbread paired with a selection of deli meats & artisanal cheeses, and complement your hors d'oeuvres with our signature glögg (mulled wine) and aquavit (a traditional Scandinavian spirit) for a truly authentic experience.

Indulge in the comforting taste of authentic Swedish meatballs, served atop a bed of creamy mashed potatoes and generously smothered in savory gravy. A side of broccoli completes this hearty and classic Scandinavian dish.
